Make it Better with Pure Shakers Seasonings

Peppermill Blend  |   Seasoned Salt  |   Cajun Blend  |   Mexican Blend

Vegetable Jambalaya
¾ cup raw rice (brown or white)
2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
Add :
½ cup cooked mushrooms
1 cup Chopped green bell peppers
1 cup Chopped onion
½ cup Chopped celery
11/4 cup petite diced tomatoes (drained)
1 to 2 tsp. Shakers Spicy Cajun Blend

Combine all ingredients and place in greased baking dish. Bake covered for about 1 hour at 350 degrees or until rice and vegetables are tender. Garnish with parsley.

Quick and Easy Chicken or Shrimp Gumbo
Saute in 3 Tbsp. butter until soft:
¼ cup chopped green bell pepper
¼ cup chopped onion
1 ½ cup okra (cut in ½ inch pieces)
Then stir in:
4 cups chicken broth
2 ½ cup petite diced tomatoes
1Tbsp. Shakers Spicy Cajun Blend
1Tbsp. fresh minced parsley
1 cup diced cooked chicken or diced cooked shrimp.
Simmer for about 20-30 minutes.
As an option: Add cooked white or brown rice to this easy gumbo.

Classic Red Beans and Rice - Serves 4-6.
2 cups dried red beans
1 quart water
½# diced lean ham
½ cup diced carrots
½ cup chopped onion
*l Tbsp. Shakers Spicy Cajun Blend

Soak beans overnight in water. Drain and rinse. Heat beans in l quart water then add all ingredients except Shakers Spicy Cajun Blend. When beans are tender then add seasoning. Serve over white cooked rice and serve with meat and veggies.
